HONDURAS — The Interns have been assisting to start a children’s church ministry at Vida Nueva. The children normally sit in a class room for almost three hours every Sunday. Now they will have Sunday school and children’s church.
Our family has been enriched by the lives of four students from Lee University who have come to fulfill their internship here in Honduras. They are staying with us in our home and assisting with many of the various ministries here in San Pedro Sula. Two days a week they work at the government orphanage, where they have started a class for the mentally challenged children. The psychologist has thanked us over and over again for helping her develop a plan for these special children. Michael, one of the interns, took a few Bibles to give to the kids he has been discipling over the past few weeks.
The interns have also been working at M’Kadesh School three days a week. They have been leading devotions, teaching English, music, math, drama and physical education, and above all, modeling Christ to the wonderful children who come from extreme poverty. What a difference that these weeks will make in the lives of these children.
Since children’s ministry is a renewed focus, the Interns have been assisting to start a children’s church ministry at Vida Nueva. The children normally sit in a classroom for almost three hours every Sunday. Now they will have Sunday school and children’s church. Along with the children’s ministry team, the interns painted the room and have been helping the church workers.
They will also be involved in preparing youth services, helping in the clinic for the deaf, coordinating projects and ministering in the mountains. It is great to be able to pour into these young excited missionaries.
