Persecution Against Christians Continues in India

INDIA — Several church buildings have been burned down and destroyed by a Hindu militant group called the F´Bajrang Dal. Many pastors have been beaten and jailed, including our own Church of God pastors.

Christians in Karnataka State have seen severe persecution over the past four weeks and it is still continuing today. Several church buildings have been burned down and destroyed by a Hindu militant group called the F´Bajrang Dal.

Many pastors have been beaten and jailed, including our own Church of God pastors. The state government has authorized this persecution against Christians, so the law and order department keeps quiet.

The allegation against us is that of “forceful conversion,” which is absolutely false. Our main church in Jeevanahalli has also been targeted, and today there have been threats aimed at our Sunday services. However, the Lord took care of the morning services without any troubles.

Though it seems like things are back to normal, they’re truly not. It is feared that more troubles are on the way. Village churches and pastors are feeling more heat than the city churches. It is a tough time in Karnataka for the church, especially for the work of the Church of God in Karnataka. The newly elected Hindu government has over four and a half years of power left. They are determined to wipe Christians out of Karnataka.

We need great prayer support at this time. We request all Church of God churches to pray for the ministries in Karnataka State.
