Church of God Hispanic leaders, Samuel Santana and Eliezar Bonilla, have joined national board of America’s preeminent Hispanic Christian organization.
America’s largest Hispanic Christian Organization, The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), The Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals, announced today the addition of two prominent Hispanic Evangelical Pentecostal leaders to the board of directors; Bishops Samuel Santana and Eliezer Bonilla.
“These two Church of God Pastors personify the best in the emerging Hispanic Pentecostal community. We are blessed to have them as part of our National Team”, declared Dr. Jesse Miranda, NHCLC Chief Executive Officer.
Bishop Samuel Santana oversees the Hispanic churches in the Southwestern region of the country for the Pentecostal Church of God denomination headquartered in Cleveland, Tennessee. Santana served as Pastor of New Life Church in Tucson, Arizona. The church, under his leadership, grew to approximately 1,500 worshippers, one of the largest Hispanic churches in America.
Dr. Gilbert Velez, NHCLC Board Chair sees the addition as a metric of the emerging community. “Bishop Sam Santana and Bishop Bonilla bring a wealth of experience and proven ministerial success. Without a doubt, their contribution will enhance the National Hispanic Evangelical portfolio exponentially,” said Velez.
Rev. Eliezer Bonilla serves as Senior Pastor of Abundant Life Church of God in San Antonio, Texas. This innovative church is one of the largest Hispanic churches in the denomination, one of the largest Pentecostal denominations in the World. Via Bonilla’s leadership, focusing on local ministry groups and discipleship, the Abundant Life community has blossomed into one of the Nation’s fastest growing churches according to the Hispanic Mega Church Association.
“Bishops Bonilla and Santana represent the future of the American Christian Community; Pentecostal, educated, articulate, anointed and committed to both the Vertical and Horizontal elements of the Cross. We look forward to leading our 25,000 churches and 16 million constituents together with sustainable and viable models of Christ Centered leadership,” declared Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, Conference President.
Both Santana and Bonilla participated in the annual Washington D.C. National Hispanic Evangelical Visitation Day where they met with the Hispanic Congressional Caucus, 37 Congressional offices and White House officials including a meeting with Joshua Dubois and the Faith Based White House team.
