PHILIPPINES – Church of God missionaries Tom and Margaret Tioaquen share the importance of having mentors in the ministry.
Our first pastorate was a dual pastorate in Lahaina and Wailuku, Maui, in the mid ‘60s. We were young, totally inexperienced but totally committed to our work. Discouraged and in need of Church of God counsel, Harold and Beatrice Stansky arrived.
The time they spent with us has helped propel our faith all the way to the Philippines. They taught us to always say ‘it is possible’ even when there is nothing, for God created when there was nothing but emptiness.
Since then we have been there many times. He is still creating. Beatrice and Harold were the fastest walkers, solid soldiers, faithful servants, prayer warriors and encouragers to two young people and that has resulted in thousands saved here in the Philippines. Their treasure continues to increase. Praise the Lord for the Beatrice and Harold Stanskys in kingdom work.
