This week, during Chapel services at the Church of God Theological Seminary, the newest Church of God Army chaplain, First Lieutenant Daniel Isfan was administered the oath of office for active duty chaplaincy, by Dr. Robert Crick, Director, Chaplains Commission. Church of God Chaplain (CPT) Danny Claypoole, who has just returned from a tour in Iraq participated in the ceremony. Chaplain Isfan was raised in the Romanian Church in America and is the first to be Commissioned as an Church of God Army chaplain from this community. He served the Romanian church as Worship Leader, Choir Director and is presently Youth Pastor at the Bethel Romanian Church of God, Gallatin, Tennessee. He is a graduate of the Church of God Theological Seminary and speaks fluent Romanian. He has orders to attend the Army Chaplain Officer Basic Course, Fort Jackson, NC this summer. Upon graduation from Chaplains Basic School, Chaplain Isfan, his wife Diana and their two children Joshua and Marcus will then relocate to Fort Campbell, KY, where they will be assigned to the 101st Air Borne Division for their first tour.
