A radio talk show that began this past summer featuring two Christians is gaining in popularity. It’s called “Xtreme Radio” with Stephen Baldwin and Kevin McCullough.
The two-hour show takes place every Saturday evening and has grown rapidly since its debut last summer. McCullough, who is an author and Fox News contributor, says the weekly show tackles current topics in a unique way.
“We take the moral dilemmas of the day, kind of roll them up, pack them like a snowball, and throw them as hard as we can at the audience of [ages] 15 to 34…and get them to react to it,” he explains.
The show is not driven by political matters, and McCullough says those who disagree with the hosts are sure to get on air. And he says the show does not just talk about issues, but also offers solutions from God’s Word.
“What we’re doing is picking those subjects that do impact the next generation [and] what they’re facing,” says McCullough. “But we’re also, in the midst of the discussion, [posing] options for [the audience] that allow them to contemplate, sometimes very deep biblical truth, but not necessarily in the language of the chapter-and-verse kind of old-style Christian radio…,” he continues. “And for that reason we’re on a lot of secular stations, in addition to the Christian teaching-and-talk stations that carry us.”
Xtreme Radio is currently heard in more than 315 cities on more than 175 stations. Among the radio networks carrying the program is AFRTalk (American Family Radio), where it is heard from 8:05-10:00 p.m. (Central) on Saturdays.
