Church of God World Missions Launches 2 Million Souls Initiative

Cleveland, TN–Church of God World Missions is answering the call through the 365 Challenge and now the 365 Journey to reach 2 million souls with the Gospel by July 2026.

This milestone is the newest initiative under the ministry’s 365 Journey, a global movement that is encouraging believers to live with daily missional intent. Since launching in August of 2022, more than 800,000 people around the world have been impacted by the Gospel through the efforts of Church of God World Missions and its global partners to reach the Last, the Least, and the Lost of humanity.

“With the 80th General Assembly approaching in July 2026, World Missions is pressing forward with fresh urgency,” stated Director of World Missions M. Thomas Propes. “The goal of reaching two million isn’t just a numeric target; it’s a statement of faith. It represents lives, stories, and eternities that can be transformed through the message of Jesus.”

The call is rooted in Romans 10:13–15: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on Him unless they believe? And how can they believe without hearing? And how can they hear unless someone is sent? That spiritual cause-and-effect chain, first written by the apostle Paul, continues to echo today,” Propes said.

According to the Lausanne Movement’s State of the Great Commission (2024), over 3.2 billion people—more than 40% of the world’s population—still live without access to the Gospel. Even more concerning, less than 3% of all missionaries are currently serving among the last, the least, and the lost: those still waiting to hear the name of Jesus for the first time. Entire regions like South Asia, North Africa, and the Middle East remain virtually untouched. Among those highlighted by Church of God World Missions are the Shaikh of Bangladesh, a people group of 136 million with less than 0.01% Gospel exposure, and the Shawiya Berbers of Algeria, a population of 2 million that remains unreached. For the Church of God, these aren’t just stats: they are people waiting not only for help but for HOPE.

“The two-million goal is a direct response to this global crisis, and Church of God World Missions is extending the invitation to every believer,” Propes continued. “Participation doesn’t require a title, a pulpit, or even a passport. Through the 365 Journey, anyone can be part of the mission by praying, giving, serving locally, or helping send workers to the harvest field. It’s a movement built on everyday obedience, fueled by the belief that God speaks and moves through willing people.”

According to Propes, this is not the finish line for the 365 Journey, but a bold next step in a story that’s still being written. “The task is urgent, but the opportunity is even greater. With a global Church united in purpose and empowered by the Spirit, (we) believe that 2 million lives can and will be changed.”
