Agenda for 2024 General Assembly Released

June 3, 2024–The General Council Agenda for the upcoming 79th International General Assembly of the Church of God has been released by General Overseer Dr. Tim Hill and the International Executive Committee.

The “Harvest Now Agenda” document contains 22 items to address during the General Council business sessions, as well as additional motions and resolutions that come from the floor. Hill said, “We are also expecting anointed worship and preaching, so it looks to be a busy and productive, week of fellowship, prayer, worship, and business.”

To prepare for the business sessions, Hill sent an email to all ordained bishops, ahead of the required 30 day’s notice requirement. The General Council begins on Tuesday morning, July 9, 2024, at the Indiana Convention Center.

Official business starts with nominations for the Executive Committee, of which there are three openings to be filled due to tenure limitations of three of the current members. Those nominations will be followed by nominations for Church department ministries and then the election of the Council of Eighteen.

“I specifically ask that everyone who will be discussing and debating the Harvest Now Agenda prayerfully consider each item,” Hill stated. “We will open each morning session with prayer, beginning at 8:00 am.”

The Agenda was prepared by the General Council Agenda Committee (GCAC) and presented to the International Executive Council at their most recent meeting in early April where they debated and processed the GCAC’s work. The final document is now presented to the General Council where they will do the same.
