Australia Calls for Three Days Prayer & Fasting for America
Australia is calling the nations of the world to join in prayer and fasting for the United States of America. This is the twelfth year Australia has done this! This year the period will be 3 days, from 30 April – 2 May 2024. The theme is “LIFT UP THE WORD – LIGHT UP THE WORLD.” 2 Samuel 22:29-31
April 30 is America’s National Day of Repentance. May 2 is America’s National Day of Prayer.
The National Day of Prayer is a vital part of America’s heritage, as is the USA Day of Repentance. The 30 April is the day when George Washington was inaugurated in 1789 and said, “so help me, GOD!” and boldly called for “the sacred fire of Liberty” to be the foundation of the United States.
Kym Farnik, the Prayer Coordinator for the Canberra Declaration said, “We are grateful for the protection that America gave Australia and the nations of the free world during World War II. The Battle of the Coral Sea fought by the USA in 1942, was the turning point in the Second World War for Australia. Australian and American soldiers have fought side by side in every major conflict since the First World War. But both countries need to see an awakening to Christ. The good news is that the month of May also celebrates Go MONTH, a call for the Christians of the world to pray and share the Gospel with 5 people in the month of May. The simple goal is to reach a billion people with God’s love.”
