African Descent Conference Set for July 26-29

Cleveland, TN–The Church of God African Descent Ministries Council in partnership with Church of God Intercultural Ministries has announced the 2023 International African Descent Conference set for July 26-29, 2023.

According to Dr. James S. McIntyre, Sr., director of Intercultural Ministries and conference host, the theme for this year’s conference is “Synergy – The Gathering of Cultures,” with a thematic scripture reference found in Ephesians 4. All services will be held at the North Cleveland Church of God, 335 11th Street NE, in Cleveland, TN.

Keynote speakers include General Overseer Tim Hill, Pastor Dr. Arlene Hall, Rev. Smokie Norful, pastor of Victory Cathedral, General Moderator for South Africa Dr. Stafford Petersen, PTS President Michael Baker, PTS Vice President Dr. David Han, and Dr. Clifton Clarke. A prestigious list of morning speakers is also slated and includes Bishop Marlon Green, PTS Professor Dr. Ayodeji Adewuya, Dr. David Roebuck, Dr. Xenobia Poitier Anderson, Bishop Dr. Michael Reynolds, and Dr. Aaron and Sharon Jones.

McIntyre announced that in partnership with the Pentecostal Theological Seminary and PTS President Baker, the event will celebrate the launch of the Center for African Descent Studies (CADS), under the leadership of Executive Director Dr. Clifton Clarke.

As part of the three-day conference, Dr. Ken Hill, chairman of the African Descent Council and co-host stated, “On Friday, July 28, located on the campus of PTS, we will celebrate with a luncheon at 12:30 p.m., and during the worship service at 7:00 p.m., we will dress in our origin of native attire for a worshipful experience at North Cleveland Church of God.”
