Adult Discipleship Offers Resources for Pastor Appreciation Sunday
Cleveland, TN–Church of God Adult Discipleship has announced the availability of valuable resources for Pastor Appreciation Day across the denomination.
The annual recognition of pastors takes place on Sunday, April 30 this year.
“Each year on the last Sunday of April, Church of God congregations all over North America and beyond, both honor and celebrate their local church pastor and his or her family,” stated International Co-Director of Adult Discipleship, Dr. O Wayne Brewer. “It is an exciting Sunday of celebration, gratitude, and encouraging appreciation.” According to Brewer, the Church of God, “has traditionally respected and honored the God-called men and women who serve the Body of Christ as faithful pastors. Though not an easy task by any measure, the office/ministry of pastor is essential to the nurture, care, feeding, and discipleship of the people of God.”
The theme for this year is “Double Honor,” based on I Timothy 5:17: “Let the (pastors) that rule well be counted worthy of double honor, especially they who labor in the word and doctrine.”
