Mother’s Day Offering to Benefit Smoky Mountain Children’s Home

Sevierville, TN—The Church of God’s Smoky Mountain Children’s Home (SMCH) has announced a special “Mother’s Day Offering” appeal, set for Sunday, May 14, 2023.

“Transforming A Generation” is the theme of this year’s offering, which will benefit the hundreds of children under the umbrella of the Church of God’s oldest benevolent home for children.

“Our lifelong mission is to change lives,” stated Dr. Walt Mauldin, executive director of the SMCH. “We believe the 400 children and young people God has placed in our care can be transformed from the darkness of this world to the light of Jesus. To accomplish this goal, we need your help now…more than ever!”

Mauldin, in an appeal to pastors, ministries, and local churches said that through SMCH’s residential, foster care and adoption programs, children and young people come under their care between the ages of one to seventeen. In addition, there is an on-campus school referred to as Alpha, for grades 7-12.

“Every child needs your help, so we are appealing to churches to receive a special Mother’s Day Love Offering for the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home on Sunday, May 9, 2023. Please prayerfully consider helping us,” Mauldin stated. “As a response to your faithfulness, our prayer is that God will bless you and your church abundantly in 2023 for blessing us according to Ephesians 3:20: ‘Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us.’”
