Winter 2023 Engage Journal Now Live

Published three times a year, the Winter 2023 issue of Church of God Engage journal has been released digitally at cogengage.org.

Engage is emailed directly to ministers, pastors, staff and leaders in the Church of God. It is then made available to anyone through logging into the website. On the site, the publication may be viewed in a convenient PDF format. There are also archived copies of the publication going back several years.

This current issue features an in-depth presentation of the Harvest ’24, General Overseer Tim Hill’s vision for the denomination for this Assembly period. Articles address such topics as the validity of “worshiping alone,” as compared to corporately, and a report on Evangelical’s increased charitable giving. General Overseer Tim Hill continues the series, “Let’s Talk About It,” with his latest entry entitled, “Addicted to Applause.”

The Doctrine and Polity papers, a series of articles that addresses the Church of God’s core values, continues in this issue with a focus on the Church of God’s stance on the “Hyper-grace” phenomenon. It is addressed by Dr. David Han, a vice president at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary.

Recurring sections include a column penned by Church of God Legal Counsel Dennis Watkins who continues a series on church insurance issues, this time addressing fire loss. President and CEO of the Benefits Board Art Rhodes talks about “Surviving an Economic Downturn.”

Engage is for ministers, church and lay leaders, offers a variety of articles for those working or volunteering in church ministry. Engage offers practical ministry ideas, recommendations, and resources, as well as items for the local church to implement. In addition, advertisements throughout the publication are provided by the departments and ministries of the Church of God and include live links to websites of advertisers.
