Cleveland, TN–Dr. M. Thomas Propes, Director of Church of God World Missions, and Assistant Director Dr. John D. Childers, today announced the formation of a church planting and church revitalization initiative outside the United States and Canada.
“If we are going to see a worldwide harvest of souls, we must do everything within our power to plant life-giving churches. Church of God World Missions is committed to not only planting new churches, but also to revitalizing and bringing new life into existing congregations. With churches in 186 countries of the world, we must seize every opportunity to reach those who have not yet accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Additionally, we must strategically concentrate our efforts in areas where the name of Jesus Christ has never been heard,” stated Director Propes.
[1] World Missions church planting and revitalization effort is a part of the “365 Challenge” launched at the 2022 International General Assembly and will be structured by and under the direction of the five World Missions field directors. When asked about the structure, Assistant Director Childers noted, “Each area of the world is different. Our field directors will have latitude to mold the initiative to fit their area of service. Our only goal is to see souls won into the Kingdom.”
Goals and objectives for the different areas of the world, along with the strategies for each, will be drafted and implemented by Church of God World Missions ministry teams.
In commending this initiative, Dr. Timothy M. Hill, General Overseer of the Church of God and liaison to Church of God World Missions, stated, “World Missions is a vital part of the ‘Finish Commission – Harvest’ effort. Our joint commitment to church planting and revitalization will help us reach our goal of carrying the Gospel to all corners of the world.”

Misiones Mundiales lanza un esfuerzo de plantación de iglesias y revitalización
Cleveland, TN: El Dr. M. Thomas Propes, Director de Misiones Mundiales de la Iglesia de Dios, y el Dr. John D. Childers, Asistente al Director, anunciaron hoy la formación de una iniciativa de plantación y revitalización de iglesias fuera de los Estados Unidos y Canadá.
“Si vamos a ver una cosecha global de almas, debemos hacer todo lo que esté a nuestro alcance para plantar iglesias que den vida en todo el mundo. Misiones Mundiales de la Iglesia de Dios se compromete no sólo a plantar nuevas iglesias, sino también a revitalizar y dar nueva vida a nuestras congregaciones existentes. Como iglesia global con iglesias en 186 países del mundo, debemos aprovechar cada oportunidad para alcanzar a aquellos que no han llegado a aceptar a Jesús Cristo como su Señor y Salvador. Además concentrar nuestros esfuerzos estratégicamente en áreas donde el nombre de Jesús nunca ha sido escuchado”, declaró el Director Propes.
El esfuerzo de plantación de iglesias y revitalización de Misiones Mundiales forma parte del “Desafío 365” lanzado en la Asamblea General Internacional 2022 y será estructurado por y bajo la dirección de los cinco directores de campo de Misiones Mundiales. Cuando se le preguntó sobre la estructura, el Asistente al Director Childers señaló: “Cada área del mundo es diferente. Nuestros directores de campo tendrán la libertad de moldear la iniciativa para que se adapte a su área de servicio. El objetivo principal es simplemente ver almas ganadas para el Reino”.
Las metas y objetivos para las diferentes áreas del mundo, junto con las estrategias para cada una de ellas, serán redactadas e implementadas por los equipos ministeriales de Misiones Mundiales de la Iglesia de Dios en todo el mundo.
Al elogiar esta iniciativa, el Dr. Timothy M. Hill, Supervisor General de la Iglesia de Dios y enlace con Misiones Mundiales de la Iglesia de Dios, declaró: “Misiones Mundiales es una parte vital del esfuerzo de la ‘Comisión Final – La Cosecha’. Nuestro compromiso conjunto con la plantación revitalización de iglesias nos ayudará a alcanzar nuestro objetivo de llevar el Evangelio a todos los rincones del mundo.”
