The General Council convenes for the first time in four years on Tuesday, July 26, following a postponement from 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The body of ordained bishops will first deal with the question of tenure for leaders that were supposed to be voted upon in 2020. The measure will then be decided by a special convening of the General Assembly at 10:30 am. Nomination of leaders, including the Executive Committee, World Missions, and Youth and Discipleship directors will take place on Tuesday afternoon.

The opening day of the General Assembly will conclude with an opening celebration at 7:00 pm titled, “I Never Lost My Praise,” with multiple musical guests, including Geron Davis, Amanda Crabb, and the Voices of Lee. General Overseer Tim Hill will deliver a message centered on the Assembly theme, “A Church on Mission.”

Online registration continues for the remainder of this week at churchofgod.org or ga22.org. Business sessions, worship services, the exhibit hall and most events will be conducted at the HGBCC.
