Items that would necessitate changes to the bylaws of the Church of God Minutes have been released, fulfilling the 90 days notice leading up to the International General Assembly.
The proposed changes were finalized by the International Executive Council which met last week in Cleveland, Tenn. The package includes four proposed amendments for consideration and debate by the General Council when the body of ordained bishops convenes in San Antonio, Texas, starting Tuesday, July 26, 2022.
The items deal with proposed updates to submission dates, the International Council, an update of the formats of submission of items, and women in leadership. All items come with a rationale explaining the proposed amendments.
Once debated and finalized by the General Council in July, previous notice items as well as other business will move to the General Assembly session, scheduled for Friday, July 29, 2022 at 2:30 pm, for further debate and final passage.
