PRIORITY: Weekly Online Prayer Gathering Launches Jan. 10

Cleveland, TN—Church of God General Overseer Tim Hill has announced a new call to prayer, set to take place every Monday at 9:00 a.m. EST. The initiative, named Priority, is set to begin on Monday, January 10, 2022 via Facebook Live.

The guiding scripture for PRIORITY is taken from Matthew 6:33: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”

The eight-month long prayer event will conclude on August 1, the Monday following the International General Assembly set for July 25-29, 2022 in San Antonio, Texas.

General Overseer Hill explained that PRIORITY is a continuation of the #WePrayCOG movement, launched in late 2019 with a primary focus of prayer for the General Assembly that was set to be held the following summer in Indianapolis. In April 2020, the International Executive Council made the difficult decision to postpone the Assembly that year due to the worldwide spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“#WePrayCOG continued throughout 2020, becoming a focal point for prayer for the tragic consequences of the pandemic,” Hill stated. “Although the initiative’s original goals were altered, it brought unity in an uneasy period for the Church of God. It is my prayer that PRIORITY will pick up where we were interrupted in concentrating on God’s perfect will and direction for our movement.”

PRIORITY will be hosted by Church of God pastors and leaders from around the world, both in person and virtually. Members of the International Executive Committee will lead the first weeks, with Hill set to kick-off the Facebook Live series on Monday, January 10, at 9:00 am EST. He will be joined by Pastor James Sears of Mt. Olive Ministries in Cleveland.

PRIORITY can be found on the Church of God’s Facebook page, @COGHQ.
