Honoring Retired Ministers and Widows: October 24

Reformation Sunday, the time set aside by Church of God congregations to honor its retired ministers and widows, has been set for Sunday, October 24.

Churches and congregations are asked to receive special love offering that will given in its entirety to Church of God men and women who have given their lives to promoting the Gospel in churches around the globe.

Church of God General Overseer Tim Hill said, “Many of our retired ministers and widows come from a generation that took the call to ministry so seriously that any extra income that came their way was sown right back into the local church. This admirable burden should not be ignored, but rewarded with our willingness to give cheerfully, so that they might have a more cheerful holiday season.”

All offerings designated for, or received on Reformation Sunday, will be combined with a contribution from the International Offices and distributed a few weeks prior to the holiday season to retired ministers and widows in the Church of God. Every dollar earmarked for this offering will be distributed to bless those who have gone before and plowed the Harvest field.

Please contact your local Church of God and inquire about their plans to participate, or mail contributions to: Church of God International Offices, Accounting Department, Attention: Sherry Ellenwood, PO Box 2430, Cleveland, TN 37320-2430. Please designate “Reformation Sunday” on all contributions.
