Cleveland, TN—Rev. G. Dennis and DeRosa McGuire were formally inducted into the prestigious Pentecostal Theological Seminary (PTS) Hall of Prophets. The Hall of Prophets is reserved for Pentecostal ministers, “whose ministry for Christ has been distinctive, honorable, noteworthy and meritorious.” The induction establishes a fully funded endowed scholarship of at least twenty-five thousand dollars and will serve as a perpetual source of funding scholarships and support for deserving PTS students for ministry.

The induction was hosted under the leadership of Bishop Wayne Dority, administrative bishop for the Church of God in Tennessee. Dr. Michael L. Baker, president of PTS, officiated the formal induction with ministry tributes from Dority, and Dr. Tim Hill, Church of God General Overseer.

McGuire has served the Church of God in a broad spectrum of ministry positions, including pastor, administrative bishop, Executive Council member, Executive Committee member and in the top leadership post for the denomination, general overseer, from 2004-2008.

On behalf of the seminary Board of Trustees, Baker formally inducted the McGuires and presented them with a special plaque that chronicles their ministry of more than fifty-nine years. A duplicate plaque is placed in the PTS “Gallery of Pentecost,” designed to preserve the legacy of those whose consecration and dedication to God and the Church is worthy of emulation. A special luncheon was convened on Wednesday with tributes expressed by close friends, family, and ministry colleagues.

At the end of the presentation, which took place during the evening service of the camp meeting, Dennis and ReRosa McGuire expressed their thanks to those who made the honor possible and testified of God’s grace and goodness over the course of their life and ministry of 55 years together.

Congratulations to the McGuires on their induction into the Pentecostal Theological Seminary Hall of Prophets.
