Groups Working Together in Discipleship of Africa

African Enterprise Australia and Oasis International have come together “to evangelize the cities of Africa through Word and Deed in partnership with the Church” and “to equip Africa’s leaders to impact the global church.”

Through this partnership Oasis International, an enterprising Christian publishing ministry responding to Africa’s thirst for God’s Word and publisher of the Africa Study Bible, will provide content from the Africa Study Bible which will be included in the Pastor Training Courses materials for African Enterprise, an evangelism ministry which mobilizes thousands of local volunteers and churches in African nations to bring the Good News of Jesus to city people in Sub-Saharan and North Africa.

“African Enterprise is unique for our focus on reaching every level of society with the Gospel. Each year we run up to 12 city-wide evangelism missions in Central, East, West and Southern Africa,” says Ben Campbell, CEO African Enterprise Australia. “We’re looking forward to partnering together with Oasis on this initiative which will introduce the contextualized content into our pan African Mission work which has been an increasing focus in the last few years.”

Matthew Elliott, President of Oasis International said, “The Africa Study Bible was created to address the reality of life in Africa from an African perspective. It is a unique resource suited to reach Christians in Africa who want to learn how to live out God’s Truth in their own cultures. We’re excited for this partnership with African Enterprise because the pastors they will be training for missions will get access to resources that will help them use cultural understandings to apply Scripture to everyday life in their churches and communities.”

Readers of the Africa Study Bible say:

“I have just finished chapter 9 of the book of Hebrews using the Africa Study Bible that I received as a gift. I was struggling to get deeper understanding of the book of Hebrews but now with the study Bible, it’s so awesome. The introduction of the book brings the whole imaginations of what is inside and makes [me] fully expectant. The application notes at the bottom of each page are bringing [me] into the context of the paragraph and see [myself] as among the targeted audience of the author. I am really enjoying reading the Bible now than before.” — Pastor Chisomo Jede, Balaka, Malawi.

“I was impressed by how African stories and proverbs are properly applied in the interpretation of scriptures as reflected in study notes about scriptures. Having a study Bible that explores scriptures in the African perspective with African touch points will be of a great help to the pastors as they prepare their sermons but also to the general body of the church in Africa.” — Liberty Muhereza, Country Director, ALARM-Uganda

“I have had the privilege of working across Africa for the past 40 years and have waited for this amazing tool to become available. I am confident that the Africa Study Bible will become an invaluable daily companion to every pastor and teacher in Africa. It is a brilliant Study Bible written by African scholars from an African perspective and will certainly help Africa to understand and teach the Bible better.” — The Rt. Rev. Dr. Warwick Cole, Edwardes, Principal: KwaZulu-Natal Missionary & Bible College, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa
