Smoky Mountain Gathering Postponed

The Church of God-sponsored Smoky Mountain Gathering, originally scheduled for April 27-29, 2021, in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, has been postponed to 2022.

H.W. “Dusty” Wilson, chairman of the SMG Steering Committee announced that the committee, “has been working diligently to ensure an inspirational, exciting and fun filled experience at the 30th Anniversary of the Smoky Mountain Gathering. It is also the desire of this group to provide a safe environment as to the best of our ability. With this in mind, it is with a heavy heart that we announce the decision to postpone to 2022.”

“We feel this decision, although difficult as it is, comes with great counsel and wisdom,” Wilson continued. “Our utmost concern is out of an abundance of caution and for those registered to attend. It is our desire that everyone feel safe and comfortable to attend; however, our times continue to be clouded with uncertainty and filled with great precaution.”

Several delegates had already preregistered for the event, which was originally postponed from April 2020. Those who wish to receive a refund should email Sandy Whitmire ([email protected]), or call 423-478-7176. Refund requests will be accepted until May 15, 2021. Those who wish to defer their registration to the event in 2022 may do so through the same methods. Dates for the postponed 30th anniversary SMG have yet to be decided.

“We do not want this to be an inconvenience to anyone, but simply a decision we feel appropriate and wise considering the best interest of everyone involved,” Wilson concluded. “Please continue to pray for those affected by COVID19 and for our leaders at every level.”
