Winter 2021 Engage Journal Releases January 15

The Winter 2021 issue of Church of God Engage will be released on Friday, January 15, 2021 and available digitally at www.cogengage.org [1].

The journal for ministers, church and lay leaders, offers a variety of articles for those working or volunteering in church ministry. Engage offers practical ministry ideas, recommendations, and resources, as well as items for the local church to implement. In addition, advertisements throughout the publication are provided by the departments and ministries of the Church of God and include live links to websites of advertisers.

In this issue, featured articles include one that focuses on staying connected with the church during the pandemic, introduction of the Global Evangelism Source, and an analysis on when it might be time to leave a church. A special focus introduced in this issue details “One Church’s Journey,” telling the story of the unique path of the Westmore Church of God in its 20-year quest for a new campus.

General Overseer Tim Hill continues the series, “Let’s Talk About It,” where he asks the question, “Are You Better Prepared for Preaching Than Ministry?” The Doctrine and Polity papers, a series of articles that addresses the Church of God’s core values, continues in this issue with a scriptural analysis on observing the Sabbath, written by Dr. Lee Roy Martin, a faculty member at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary.

Recurring sections include a column penned by Church of God Legal Counsel Dennis Watkins who addresses the delicate topic of child safety and protection within the church. President and CEO of the Benefits Board Art Rhodes talks about how pastors and church staffs need to document pastoral business expenses.

Published three times a year, Engage is emailed directly to ministers, pastors, staff and leaders in the Church of God. It is then made available to anyone through logging into the website www.cogengage.org [1]. On the site, the publication may be viewed in a convenient PDF format. There are also archived copies of the publication going back several years.
