Virtual Evangelism Source Unveiled

The Church of God has always been committed to the Great Commission. However, the recent GO FINISH initiative, which took place in May 2020, was possibly the largest global outreach with an ecumenical partnership in Church of God history.

Church of God World Missions reported that more than one hundred nations joined together to share Christ during this epic event. Church of God congregations in every state and region in North America became involved as well.

“The magnitude of what God has done globally through this effort is literally recapturing the original DNA of our movement,” stated J. David Stephens, Second Assistant General Overseer for the Church of God. “With the church adapting to the global pandemic and committed to increased inclusivity of all people groups, we are expanding efforts in a new, innovative, year-round ministry platform called GO FINISH—The Call of Every Disciple.” Stephens explained it as a virtual evangelism source for pastors, churches, and individuals to be motivated and trained in witnessing.

GO FINISH—The Call of Every Disciple was birthed in the heart of General Overseer Timothy Hill, who commissioned Stephens and Youth Missions Coordinator in the Youth and Discipleship Department, Mark Swank, to chart the pathway forward.

The brand-new virtual evangelism source is a “go-to” place for resources and events that motivate, equip, and mobilize the church to FINISH the Great Commission. Every month, new creative ways to share Christ and sharpen evangelism skills will be presented.

“GO FINISH—The Call of Every Disciple will assist us in living out our faith,” Stephens concluded. “We hope everyone will add to their list of witnessing and outreach resources. Together, we can reach the world for Christ!”
