The Church on Mission Publication Released

Cleveland, TN—Church of God General Overseer Tim Hill and the Executive Committee have completed a 32-page document that outlines the mission and vision for the Church of God in the ensuing Assembly period.

Completed last month, the document has been months in the making. The Church on Mission: A Priority Review of Mission and Vision is similar to a publication released at the 2018 General Assembly. The publication reports where the church has been and where it is headed between now and when the Church of God convenes for the 78th International General Assembly in San Antonio, Texas on July 25-29, 2022.

Within its pages is a recap of the message delivered by General Overseer Hill at the virtual “Global Celebration” on September 18, 2020. There are links (QR codes) to videos that played that evening, and vision-casting articles for World Missions, the Jeremiah Generation, and Women’s Ministries. Other features recap how the Church of God has survived and met the challenges of Covid-19 and a focus is given on the Church of God’s commitment to racial diversity. There is also a link to a set of valuable resources that includes financial reports, summaries, and a link to download the 2020-2022 Appointment Book, which is traditionally released in a printed form at the General Assembly, but is available at the link.

The publication is designed for both laity and ministers, and is critical enough that every active and retired Church of God minister with a current address on file at the International Offices is set to receive a hard copy in the mail. In addition it has been released as a special edition of the Evangel for the January 2021 issue. It is also available in digital format on the resource site cogchurchonmission.com [1], introduced when the publication was released and is also available through a direct link on the minister’s reporting portal.

“When you receive your copy, I encourage you to take the time to read and absorb it as it will be our guiding publication until the next Assembly,” stated General Overseer Hill.
