Reformation Sunday Is October 25

Every year, the Church of God designates a Sunday in October to receive a special offering to honor retired ministers and widows. It is called Reformation Sunday and it takes place this year on October 25, 2020.

“Many of our retired ministers and widows come from a generation that took the call to ministry so seriously that any extra income that came their way was sown right back into the local church,” said General Overseer Tim Hill in an appeal to local church leaders. “This admirable burden should not be ignored, but rewarded with our willingness to give cheerfully, so that they might have a more cheerful holiday season.”

All offerings designated for, or received on Reformation Sunday, will be combined with a contribution from the International Offices and distributed a few weeks prior to the holiday season to retired ministers and widows in the Church of God. Every dollar earmarked for this offering will be distributed to bless those who have gone before us and plowed the Harvest field.
