Leaders Gathered for MIP Training

Cleveland, TN—Church leaders from across the nation are at the Church of God International Offices this week for leadership and ministerial training for the Ministerial Internship Program, or MIP. The State MIP Coordinators Conference has attracted coordinators from a total of 33 states/regions and is scheduled to conclude on Thursday, February 27 at noon.

Sponsored by the Church of God Division of Education, the training takes place to equip pastors, staff and lay leaders in the details and logistics of MIP, as well as mentoring and coaching of the candidates through the intense period of internship for the aspiring ministers enrolled in the program.

Assistant General Overseer Dr. David Ramirez leads the Division of Education. The group was greeted on Wednesday morning by General Overseer Tim Hill who testified of the power of the MIP in his early ministry.

The agenda for the two-day conference includes over a dozen 30-45-minute sessions taught on a number of leadership and informational topics related to the state MIP coordinator role. The sessions will be led by Division of Education directors and coordinators including Drs. Michael Reynolds, Don Bennett, Dwain Pyeatt, Enrique De Jesus, and Daniel Vassell. Ramirez opened the conference with a report on the Outlook for Ministerial Training and will conclude the gathering on Thursday with Inspirational Thoughts about Ministerial Training. The final session will be a time of communion, led by Vassell and Reynolds.
