#WEPRAYCOG Program Continues Growth

#wepraycog, a 40-week period of consecrated prayer that began last fall, is approaching the midway point and continues to attract thousands of participants from around the globe who have agreed to join the initiative.

#wepraycog seeks to involve 1.5 million individual prayer partners and 5,000 local churches.

#wepraycog is set to conclude at the Church of God International General Assembly this summer when thousands of delegates gather in Indianapolis, Ind. July 21-24. The final event will be a 40-hour, around-the-clock prayer vigil led by Church of God Prayer Coordinator Doug Small. In between are significant marker events, the next to be April 22, the beginning of 40 days of prayer between Easter and Pentecost Sunday. During this period a daily Facebook live session will take place at noon EST from the International Office featuring various guests leading in prayer. The sessions will be led by Wayne and Pam Brewer of Adult Discipleship.

Church of God General Overseer Tim Hill appointed two co-chairs for #wepraycog. International leader is Niko Njotorahardjo, pastor of the Gereja Bethel Church in Jakarta, Indonesia, and Charlotte, N.C. pastor Loran Livingston leads the USA. In addition, Hill asked the Field Directors of five regions of the world to each seek at least 250,000 partners. The regions include Caribbean, Latin America, Asia/Pacific, Europe, and Africa. Livingston will chair the efforts to recruit prayer partners in the USA.
