Plans Continue for Smoky Mountain Gathering

The upcoming Church of God Smoky Mountain Gathering is continually evolving as artists and plans solidify for the 30th annual event set for April 28-30, 2020 at the Gatlinburg, Tennessee Convention Center.

Formerly known as Smoky Mountain Jubilee, the three-day event will be set in the beautiful Smoky Mountains, the nation’s most visited National Park. Designed for ages 50 and up, the theme is “Reaching a Jubilee Generation.”

SMG is packed with activities and any free time can be filled with the many attractions in the Gatlinburg-Pigeon Forge area. On Wednesday, April 29 at 4:30 p.m., there will be a special SpiritCare banquet, free for retired ministers and widows who register. On the morning of April 30, veterans are invited to a special breakfast sponsored by Ministry to the Military at 7:30 a.m. For an additional $70, delegates can add a Thursday ticket to Dollywood theme park, which includes admission, a buffet meal and a concert featuring the Talent Showcase winners.

The popular Talent Showcase offers categories in vocal, instrumental, and art. Other activities for the delegates include art classes, games, prizes and giveaways. Talent Showcase competition is set for Wednesday, April 29.

Special musical guests at the 30th annual SMG will include guitarist Doyle Dykes, Dennis Swanberg, and Ernie Haase and Signature Sound on Wednesday evening. Joining them that night will be Church of God General Overseer Timothy Hill, who will bring an inspiring message, as well as some of his vocal talents. On Tuesday night there will be a special recognition of those who have help coordinate the Gathering.
