On April 12, 2019, Fisher-Price, in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a voluntary recall of all models of the Fisher-Price Rock ‘N Play Sleeper. On June 27, 2019, the company also issued a voluntary recall of the inclined sleeper accessory included with the Ultra-Lite Day & Night Play Yard, also in cooperation with the CPSC.

A letter issued by Fisher-Price stated, “Infant fatalities have occurred in Rock ‘n Play Sleepers, and in other inclined sleep products, after the infants rolled from their backs to their stomach or side while unrestrained, or under other circumstances. Day Care Centers and any others in possession of a Rock ‘n Play Sleeper or the inclined sleeper accessory included with the Ultra-Lite Day & Night Play Yard should immediately stop using them and visit www.service.mattel.com to obtain more information about the recalls.” The toll-free number 1-866-812-6518 is available Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. EST.

“When we received this letter, we wanted to be sure our local churches were informed of this recall in case any were still using these products in their church nurseries or day care centers,” stated Dennis Watkins, legal counsel for the Church of God International Offices. “If either of these sleepers are being used, please remove them and contact Fisher-Price about a refund or replacement.”
