Dr. Grant McClung, President of Missions Resource Group, has been selected to speak at the World Missions Forum during the 25th triennial Pentecostal World Conference in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, August 26 – 30. The forum is organized by the World Missions Commission (WMC) of the Pentecostal World Fellowship (PWF).
“The Pentecostal World Fellowship,” McClung notes, “is one of the oldest and largest cooperative global networks in the worldwide Pentecostal movement. From its inception in 1947, the PWF has emphasized the stated mission and vision of being a coalition of commitment for the furtherance of the gospel to the ends of the world.” To further execute the mission of world evangelization the PWF established the World Missions Commission composed of world missions executives from the major Pentecostal organizations, networks, and affiliate associations. McClung represents the Church of God as a member of the WMC Executive Committee and serves the commission as a Missiological Advisor.
The WMC World Missions Forum provides a cooperative space for fellowship, collaboration, and peer resourcing among the key world missions leaders of the global Pentecostal movement. In the past few years, the forum has discussed such themes as media ministry, unreached people groups, benevolence and social action, human trafficking, diaspora mission, business as mission, and missionary mobilization/training to name a few.
McClung was a plenary speaker on world missions issues and trends to the entire Pentecostal World Conference in Stockholm, Sweden (2010) and again in Sao Paulo, Brazil (2016). He has published extensively on world evangelization, posting numerous resources for world missions leaders and the local church at www.MissionsResourceGroup.org. He is currently serving in an at-large capacity for global missionary education for Church of God World Missions. He is a former member of the Church of God International Executive Council.
The leadership in the PWF Advisory and Consultative Committees also includes members from additional cooperative networks (such as Empowered 21) across the Pentecostal and Charismatic movements. The PWF has long established fraternal relations with the World Evangelical Alliance (WEA) and the Lausanne Movement for World Evangelization (established by Billy Graham in 1974).
