Lee University Making Plans for Annual ‘Lee Day’

Cleveland, TN–On Friday and Saturday, April 5-6, Lee University will welcome prospective students and their families to campus for Lee Day, the university’s annual preview weekend. Over the course of the weekend, visitors will have the opportunity to participate in over 40 different events in order to discover what life at Lee is like.

“For many years, Lee Day has been the most successful recruitment event on the Lee University campus, and we expect that to be the case again this April,” said Phil Cook, vice president for enrollment and Lee Day Steering Committee co-chair. “Thousands of guests will arrive in Cleveland for a jam-packed two days of information, fun, and excitement. Lee Day provides an opportunity for prospective students and their families to experience first-hand why Lee continues to be one of the leading Christ-centered liberal arts universities in the country.”

New to the agenda, Lee will host a reception for local students on Thursday evening.

Lee Day festivities will continue on Friday at 9 a.m. with registration. In the morning, visitors will be able to go on guided tours of the campus and residence halls, sit in on classes, and visit displays of Lee’s various clubs and organizations. Later in the day, they will have the opportunity to meet faculty and students from their departments of interest at the Academic Display and attend a variety of informational sessions, covering topics ranging from student success to Lee’s theatre program. Students who have been accepted to Lee can meet with advisors and select classes for the upcoming semester. At the “Music Showcase,” visitors will also have the chance to listen to a handful of Lee’s musical ensembles.

“Lee U Spotlight,” an annual favorite, will begin at 5 p.m. on Friday. At this event, visitors will hear stories from students and alumni, watch performances from some of Lee’s most notable musical ensembles, and learn about Lee’s athletic programs.

On Friday at 8 p.m., Lee will welcome guests to the final U-Church of the semester. The concert will feature the Belonging Co. and magician Justin Flom, who recently appeared on the CBS show “The World’s Best. To conclude Friday’s festivities, visitors will be invited to join current students for a block party at The Forum with food and fun for all.

“Don’t miss Lee Day!” said Danny Murray, Lee Day Steering Committee co-chair. “This is the best time of the entire year to visit our campus. Everything is on display.”

On Saturday, registration will begin at 7 a.m. Throughout the day, guests will again be able to go on guided tours of campus and residence halls, visit displays showcasing academic programs, clubs, and organizations, and meet with advisors to select classes for the upcoming semester. Those interested in athletics will be able to meet coaches at “Fired Up!” Parents will have the opportunity to meet Lee President Paul Conn and financial aid staff for a Q&A session at “Parents Lunch and Learn.”

“Life at Lee,” another annual favorite, will begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The event takes a lighthearted look at life on Lee’s campus. Following “Life at Lee,” visitors will be invited to enjoy a cookout in Alumni Park.

Saturday’s festivities will conclude with a worship rally, featuring President Conn, Voices of Lee, LeeU Worship, and a drawing for eight scholarships.
