Dr. Tim Hill, General Overseer of the Church of God, would like to share the following information and arrangements from the family of Rhonda M. Jarvis. Please keep the Jarvis family in your prayers. The Reverend David Jarvis serves as the Regional Administrative Bishop for the Heartland Region of the Church of God:
Rhonda Michelle Jarvis entered our lives on September 24, 1981, and on January 3, 2019, she entered the arms of the One whom she lived her life so faithfully for, preached about, sang about, and wrote about. Rhonda is survived by her parents, David and Jan Jarvis; sister, Jessica Lawson (Ryan); beloved nephew, “King of Kentucky” Lincoln David Lawson; grandparents, Dill and Geraldine Jarvis; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Vernon and Rosie Hornsby, and cousin, Krista McDade.
An ordained minister in the Church of God, Rhonda was known for her infectious smile and her incredible sense of humor. Even during trying medical challenges, Rhonda had a smile on her face and was always sharing her “Rhondaisms.” Rhondaisms were her way of sharing her personal thoughts on everything from her love for Jesus to the weather.
A graduate of Lee University’s master’s program, Rhonda most recently served as a case manager at the Smoky Mountain Children’s Home in Sevierville, TN.
She led countless people to Jesus and was His hands and feet to so many. Her name means “one who is like the Lord” and she certainly lived up to her name! Well done Rhonda, you were a good and faithful servant. The best daughter, sister and aunt anyone could have ever asked for.
