In a release from the Board, it commended President Baker, “for an outstanding job during the past two years and for his tireless efforts and visionary outlook. His leadership has set the Seminary on a course for continued impact for not only Church of God education, but also the extended Pentecostal world.”

Church of God General Overseer Timothy M. Hill stated, “Just two years into the presidency of Dr. Mike Baker at the Pentecostal Theological Seminary, there is a clear display of his passion for the seminary’s vision, care for its students, and concern for the faculty and administration. The Executive Committee and I are well pleased with the leadership of Dr. Baker and wholeheartedly support the Board’s decision to extend his contract to 2022.”

Baker was appointed president of PTS in 2016, following 12 years as an administrative bishop for the Church of God in Virginia and North Georgia.
