Lee University’s Online Program Ranks in U.S. News Top Sixty

Cleveland, TN–Lee University Online has been ranked in the top 60 of U.S. News and World Report’s Best Online Bachelor’s Programs.

The 2018 ranking included 346 colleges and universities of all sizes, nationwide. U.S. News chose factors that weigh how programs are being delivered and the effectiveness at awarding affordable degrees in a reasonable amount of time. The programs were each given a score in categories including faculty credentials and training, student services and technology, student engagement, and peer reputation. Lee ranked 56 on the list, moving up 92 spots since the 2017 ranking.

“It is amazing to be recognized as not only one of the best 60 schools in the country, but number one in Tennessee,” said Dennis Purvis, director of enrollment services for Lee University Online. “This honor is a testament to the years of hard work by our amazing team of support staff, faculty, and administrators to ensure a transformational, virtual experience for our online students.”

Lee University Online offers a flexible approach toward an affordable, accessible, and achievable degree program. Online degree programs include the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science in Bible and Theology, Business Administration, Christian Studies, Criminal Justice (2 emphases areas), Ministry Leadership (8 emphases areas), and Liberal Studies (degree completion). Additionally, the school offers online graduate programs in Business Administration (MBA), Marriage and Family Studies, and Ministry Studies (4 emphases areas).

For Dr. Joshua Black, executive director of the school’s Division of Adult Learning which includes Lee University Online, this latest ranking is evidence of the institution’s historical commitment to delivering Christ-centered education to all students. In fact, Lee is celebrating its centennial this year with several events throughout 2018.

“Lee University began offering distance learning in 1919, just a year after it was founded,” said Black. “Since then, we have continued to expand our programs and student experience which culminated into Lee University Online seven years ago. We are excited to see others noticing our efforts, and we will continue to make this the world-class experience that people come to expect from Lee University Online.”
