‘Carols In the Capitol’ Set for Friday

Inspirational vocalist, sought-after Hollywood session singer, and Capitol Worship worship leader Steve Amerson will produce “Carols In the Capitol” in Statuary Hall of the United States Capitol on Thursday night, December 8th.

The concert is presented for members of Congress, their families, staff, and other invited guests. Steve Amerson will produce, conduct, and sing in the concert along with LU Praise from Liberty University. Other participants include Senate Chaplain Barry Black and House of Representatives Chaplain Patrick Conroy.

The concert will feature the audience singing seven Christmas carols including, “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “O Little Town of Bethlehem,” “Away In a Manger,” “Angels We Have Heard on High,” “Silent Night,” “Joy To the World,” and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.” Accompaniment for the evening will include a nine-piece brass ensemble.

“To my knowledge this is the first time that an evening of carols has been presented in the Capitol since 1870. I am thrilled to be a part of such a historic evening,” says Amerson.

The historic concert is being presented as a cooperative effort between Amerson Music Ministries and Capitol Worship, a weekly worship service held in the United States Capitol under the leadership of Pastor Dan Cummins and his wife, JoAnn.
