Dority Named Interim Publishing House Leader

CLEVELAND, TN: The Church of God International Executive Committee today announced that Rev. T. Wayne Dority has been appointed as the interim Director of Publications for the Church of God Publishing House/Pathway Press. Dority’s appointment is effective February 1, 2017.

Dority has most recently served as the Director of Multi-Cultural Ministries for the Church of God. Prior to joining the Division of World Evangelization, Dority served as a successful pastor and an Administrative Bishop/State Overseer in Ohio, Texas, and the Pacific Northwest.

“With the departure of Terry Hart, the Executive Committee and I initially announced that we were going to appoint an interim leadership team to lead the publishing house until we were able to identify the right person to take on this important and vital role. However, after further consideration and discussion, we realized that the right leader was already on our team in Wayne Dority. With a strong editorial staff and financial team in place, we believe Wayne is the leader needed to step in and manage the day-to-day operations of the publishing house without it ever missing a beat. The church is fortunate that he is willing to take on this challenge,” stated Dr. Timothy M. Hill, General Overseer of the Church of God.

Dority noted: “The opportunity to lead the publishing house during this interim period is an unexpected surprise to me, but something that I believe is in the center of God’s will for me and my ministry. And I do see my service to the publishing house as a great ministry. While I know that the printing business is facing major challenges in a time when it seems everything is going digital, I look forward to working with the dedicated staff at the publishing house to seek viable – and sustainable – solutions to make the publishing house a premier operation.”

On an interim basis, Dority will replace Terry Hart. Hart has been appointed by the Church of God Executive Committee to serve as the Administrative Bishop/State Overseer of Alabama.
