Church of God Communications has formally launched a new website geared primarily toward products, resources, and materials of interest to the Church of God.
While the website is open to anyone, the items offered will appeal mostly to Church of God members and attendees, with logo-specific merchandise, as well as books and handbooks that originate from Church of God programs and authors.
Although the site has been under development for months and in beta testing for weeks, it is still far from its expected level.
“We felt like we had enough product to go ahead with a launch, but there is still so much more to come,” stated David Ray, Director of Church of God Communications. “Also, by launching at this time, this gives everyone out there a chance to let us know what you’d like to see on the Church of God Marketplace.”
Ray went on to explain that this website will be unique in that it will be the only place where certain specialty items related to the Church of God will be found. Currently, one of the specialty lines features four items emblazoned with the ONE logo, the theme launched last summer at the International General Assembly. Consumers can purchase coffee mugs, wristbands, lapel pins or cuff links.
Also on the site are a number of resources pertaining to the various ministries of the Church of God, such as Men’s and Women’s Discipleship. A three volume Bible series, Search 66, recently published by former general overseer, Raymond Culpepper, is offered exclusively on Marketplace, as well as other books and materials.
Marketplace can be found on the Church of God homepage, www.churchofgod.org and employs the latest in online purchase technology and security.
“We invite everyone to check us out right away and then return often to see what’s new,” Ray concluded. “The nature–and beauty–of a website is the ability to make changes and add new material on demand. Send us an email with your ideas of what you’d like to see offered and it will certainly be considered.”
