Church of God to Launch Online ‘Marketplace’

Church of God Communications is preparing a new online ‘marketplace’ of items that will be unique to the constituency of the Church of God.

David Ray, director of communications for the Church of God, is spearheading the initiative scheduled to launch before the end of this year.

“At this past General Assembly we had a theme that lent itself to specialty items,” Ray explained. “The theme was ‘ONE’ which was easy to display on a lapel pin. Our general overseer and executive committee regularly wore the pins and by the end of the assembly, well over 1,000 had been sold or ordered. The demand for the ONE-themed merchandise since the General Assembly has been ongoing.”

According to Ray, items that are currently available include lapel pins, coffee mugs, cuff links, and wrist bands. Other items include the CD entitled ‘ONE’ that was introduced at the General Assembly and “Search 66,” the three-volume set of biblical research published by former General Overseer Raymond Culpepper.

An exact launch of the online marketplace has not been determined as items to offer are currently being decided upon, designed and stockpiled. Some of the products will include caps, T-shirts, pens, and other more common specialty items.

“The purpose of this endeavor is to offer things more personal in nature, rather than larger items for the local church,” Ray concluded. “We intend to start small and build as we determine what items consumers want most.”
