The Church of God Foundation is pleased to announce a transition in its office of president. Dr. Donald S. Aultman, president since August 2010, will be succeeded by Bishop Clayton Watson, effective August 2014.
Established in 2001, the Church of God Foundation serves the Church of God as a financial services ministry. Upon his appointment as its third president, Dr. Aultman committed himself to continuing the ministry’s faithful record of service. He has consequently led the Foundation through an organizational revitalization, witnessing a tremendous period of growth and development. Highlighting the Foundation’s progress during his tenure, was its recognition in 2013 as a Church Extension Fund in Tennessee and several other states.
Dr. Aultman’s leadership of the Foundation is the latest in a long career of distinguished ministry in the Church of God. Since becoming a licensed minister in 1950, he and his wife, Winona, have served the church in a wide variety of roles. His church leadership positions of note include: Senior Pastor, State and National Director of Youth and Christian Education, Lee University Dean and Vice President, State Overseer, founding director of the Church of God School of Ministry and Chancellor of the Church of God Division of Education. After departing from office, Dr. Aultman will continue to serve as a member of the Foundation Board of Directors.
Bishop Clayton Watson joined the Foundation in March 2012 as vice president, following years of effective ministry as a lead pastor and church/leadership consultant. Serving alongside Dr. Aultman and the foundation board, he has been integral to the foundation’s recent progress. Together, they have worked to grow the foundation’s assets to nearly $20,000,000. On March 20, 2014, the Board of Directors appointed Watson to become the foundation’s fourth president. Watson will also remain a member of the Board of Directors.
