Recently, Benson and Cathy flew to northern Germany for the annual Pentecost Conference, this year held in Westerstede. This beautiful city in northern Germany is very tranquil, with lots of flat farmland, lush and green. The people are very hospitable and you can see many bicycles throughout the area. There are many buildings (such as churches) that have been around since the Middle Ages and were once used not only as places to worship, but also as a fortress for protection against the marauding Vikings.
The team arrived on Saturday afternoon and set up for an evening youth service. The music was quite loud and the youth absolutely loved it. Several young people gave their hearts to the Lord.
On Sunday morning, the band ministered under the direction of Benson and the sermon was given by the Overseer of Ireland, Reverend Nick Park. He did a fantastic job. Following his sermon, as the band came to the stage to minister, Benson felt impressed by the Holy Spirit to give an altar call. Several people responded, yet Benson still had an “incomplete” feeling and gave a second altar call. This all seemed quite strange to us, but after the service, it was confirmed that one of our students had come to the conference with his parents who did not know the Lord. During the first altar call, the mother responded, and during the second altar call, the father responded. Praise the Lord!
God does not always work the way we think He should, but it is not up to us to question His methods. We must simply obey (Isaiah 55: 8-9).
