The annual commissioning for the Church of God’s Ministerial Internship Program (MIP) will be held this Friday, May 16, and Saturday, May 17 in Cleveland, Tennessee. The theme for this year is “Let the Lord Have His Way.”
MIP Weekend is the culmination of a two-year process undertaken by ministerial interns across the nation. The anticipated pilgrimage to Cleveland is the capstone to a time of preparation for ministry by hundreds of interns who have served in roles under the supervision of master pastors and the completion of hundreds of hours of study. Interns are highly encouraged to bring spouses and families to the ceremonies.
The weekend begins with registration in the World Evangelization Center of the International Offices on May 16. At 7:00 p.m., a “Service of Celebration” will be held at the North Cleveland Church of God featuring the music and message of Evangelist Janice Hill. The Gary Church and North Cleveland Church of God will bring musical selections, and there will be special presentations by Second Assistant General Overseer J. David Stephens and Donald Bennett. Stephens, along with State MIP Coordinators, will also recognize Supervising Pastors, MIP candidates, and their spouses.
Saturday, May 17, the Commissioning Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. Worship will again be conducted by the Gary Church and North Cleveland Church of God Music Ministries. The message will be delivered by Church of God General Overseer Mark L. Williams, after which he will lead the Commissioning Prayer.
