World Missions Ships Bibles to Latin American Orphanges

With several thousands of Fire Bibles already in the hands of orphans in nine countries, as well as junior youth camps throughout the United States, the Marcelly’s Dream Project, a ministry of Church of God World Missions, is now focusing on Latin America for spring 2014.

World Missions is targeting orphanages in Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, Bolivia, Guyana, Honduras, Paraguay, Brazil, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Chile, with approximately 2,000 language-appropriate Bibles. Traveling representatives from World Missions, Serving Orphans Worldwide, short-term missions work groups, and Local Missions Representatives’ trips are delivering Bibles throughout Spanish-speaking America.

According to World Missions Director Tim Hill, “The end result of this spring’s efforts will be an orphan holding a personal copy of the scriptures in his or her hands. Whatever it takes is worth the effort. Our partners in the Marcelly’s Dream Project have made all this possible.”

Many parents and grandparents have purchased Fire Bibles for their own children and grandchildren, and two or three to be delivered to orphans. World Missions projects having Bibles in the hands of every orphan in homes around the world and for every child attending junior youth camp in the United States by 2016.

The Marcelly’s Dream Project focuses on four major areas for orphanages and missions communities: Word—providing Fire Bibles to every residential orphan and junior youth camp attendee; Water—assuring safe drinking water for orphanages and missions communities; Walls—renovating and building necessary structures through partner agencies; and Wellness—offering pastoral care and training to missionary caregivers and medical missions.
