April 23, 2013–The Church of God International Executive Council, in session at the International Offices in Cleveland, Tennessee, joined over 2,000 worshipers at the Latin American Summit in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
[1]The meeting took place via Skype as General overseer Mark Williams greeted the delegates at the conference which has attracted delegates from several Latin American countries.
Dr. David Ramirez, Field Director for the Church of God in Latin America, said the conference was also commemorating eight years of the Church of God in the region where there are over 9,000 churches and 1 million members.
“We believe we have new hope in planting new churches,” Ramirez said.
General Overseer Williams greeted the delegates and said, “My heart swells with pride for what God is doing in Guatemala. This gathering is strategic for the Church of God!”
Williams and the Council were greeted from Guatemala by Tim Hill, director of Church of God World Missions, John Childers, assistant director, Donnie Smith with Care Ministries, and Ramirez.
