International Executive Council In Session

April 23, 2013—Cleveland, TN–The International Executive Council (IEC) of the Church of God convened this morning for their regularly-scheduled April meeting at the Leadership and Communications Center.

The IEC is comprised of the Council of Eighteen, elected by the General Council at last summer’s General Assembly, and the five-member Executive Committee, headed by General Overseer Mark Williams. The group also includes representatives from Indonesia and South Africa. Williams leads the proceedings of the IEC, scheduled to be in session until Friday or until the agenda is completed.

The meeting opened this morning with devotions and a report from General Overseer Williams. An important component of the IEC meetings is financial, which includes reports on budget review, audits, and summary financials. These presentations and discussions usually fill the bulk of the first day in session.

The IEC agenda for this week includes a number of reports from committees and groups assigned to perform further studies. Topics include affiliation, Constitutional Convention, General Council Agenda for 2014, IEC-International Member Study, loan underwriting, Needy Widows and Disabled Ministers Fund, Ministerial Discipline Study, International Credentialing Examinations and an Integrity Conference.

This evening, the IEC is scheduled to Skype with delegates at the Latin American Summit in Guatemala City, Guatemala. David Ramirez, Field Director for the Church of God in Latin America and a member of the IEC, is coordinating the link. General Overseer Williams will greet the delegates at the conference who will be gathered for the evening plenary session. The Skype will take place from the studios of the Leadership and Communications Center.
