Seminary Plans Black Ministries Awareness Event

Every year, the Pentecostal Theological Seminary observes Black History Month by having a special chapel service. This year, the PTS has teamed up with Church of God Black Ministries to observe Black History Month over three days with special guests and services.

The event is titled, Strength to Love and will take February 12-14 at PTS.

The opening event on Tuesday, February 12 will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the Seminary Chapel. Speaker will be Bishop Brandon B. Porter, member of the Presidium and General Board of the Church of God in Christ organization. A 7:00 p.m. Celebration Service that evening will be held at the North Cleveland Church of God Dixon Chapel. Speaker for occasion will be Dr. Wallace J. Sibley, assistant general overseer for the Church of God. Special music will be provided by Janice A. Hill and by the Lee University Evangelistic Singers. Worship will be led by the International Worship Center’s Worship Ministry, where Rev. Miguel Vega is pastor. The service will be live streamed from both the seminary’s website (www.ptseminary.edu [1]) and North Cleveland (www.nccog.org [2]).

On Wednesday morning, February 13 at 11:00 a.m., a Lecture/Lunch/Panel discussion will take place at the Seminary’s Knight Conference Hall. Speaker will be Dr. Michael Reynolds,

A final event of the three-day celebration will be held on Thursday morning at 11:00 at the seminary Chapel with speaker Dr. Wayne Solomon, administrative bishop of the Florida/Cocoa region of the Church of God.

Anyone wishing to attend the Wednesday 11:00 a.m. event, which includes a complimentary lunch, please email Lora Langford at llangford@ptseminary.edu or call 423-478-7707 to RSVP, so the Seminary can be prepared with the correct number of meals.
