[1]In partnership with the World Missions Commission (WMC) of the Pentecostal World Fellowship, Pathway Press has released Together in One Mission: Pentecostal Cooperation in World Evangelization. The book includes 25 essays from Pentecostal leaders from every region of the world. The various authors are denominational and missions executives, evangelists, missionaries, missiologists, regional and national missions leaders, pastors, laity, missions mobilizers and trainers, theologians, and educators.
Among the contributing authors are Jack Hayford, Prince Guneratnam, George Wood, Mark Williams, Billy Wilson, Vinson Synan. The collection is co-edited by Arto Hamalainen and Grant McClung. Hamalainen is the Chairman of the WMC and Senior Advisor to Fida International in Finland; McClung, Missiological Advisor to the WMC, is President of Missions Resource Group
(www.MissionsResourceGroup.org). Hamalainen and McClung are also contributing authors.
According to McClung, “It is significant that we were able to secure the Foreword from Dr. Tetsunao “Ted” Yamamori, international missions statesman and former International Director of the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization.” From his remarks in the Foreword, Yamamori noted, “To my knowledge, Together in One Mission may be the first of its kind in what I hope will be a growing series of case studies and expositions on Pentecostal cooperation in world evangelization.”
Yamamori is the co-author (with Donald E. Miller) of Global Pentecostalism: The New Face of Christian Social Engagement. “It is vital,” Yamamori states, “for the evangelical Great Commission community and broader Christian movement to widen their embrace of global Pentecostalism-the new face of global Christian mission.”
The book seeks to dispel the stereotyped images of global Pentecostalism as a fragmented and divided movement. It highlights many existing partnership structures and cooperative affiliations in place among Pentecostals, gives practical case studies and models of Pentecostal collaboration, and also points to many examples of how Pentecostals are involved with broader evangelical
missions movements, networks, and coalitions as cooperative partners in world evangelization.
