Culpepper Addresses Assembly of God Ministries

Earlier this week, Church of God General Overseer Raymond F. Culpepper was the special guest speaker to the ministers and employees at the world headquarters of the Assemblies of God in Springfield, Missouri.

Culpepper was introduced at the gathering by General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God worldwide, George O. Wood. The AG leader was a special guest earlier this year in Cleveland, Tennessee where he addressed a similar gathering of employees and ministers at the Church of God International Offices.

Culpepper commented on the close relationship between the two Pentecostal denominations, a tie that has not always been favorable.

“The dividing wall of difference, that the Apostle Paul talked about is down,” Culpepper said. “The preaching of the Gospel to this generation, and the fulfillment of the Great Commission, can only happen if the various persuasions network together for the mission of the Church.” He referred to an ongoing partnership with the two movements in publishing when he stated, “this is a wonderful opportunity to partner with our big brother…they have offered us a wonderful and warm open door.”

Last year the Church of God and Assembly of God agreed to a strategic partnership of sharing printed curriculum and materials.

“The partnership has profoundly helped us,” Culpepper stated in his remarks prior to his message from Acts 27 entitled, “The Turnaround Principle.” “With the rapid pace of technology, this agreement has brought a breath of fresh air for us, and I trust that it will continue. We are all on the same team, fighting the same devil, but more than the business of the Church, we need a visitation of the Holy Spirit.”
