Engage Magazine Goes Online

Engage, a magazine for Church of God leaders, has been posted on a new website, www.cogengage.org.

Themes and subjects of the articles in the pages of Engage are geared toward pastors at all levels, including children, youth, music, associates and, of course, senior pastors. For those in a full-time ministry staff position at a local Church of God in the U.S. or Canada, a complimentary printed copy of Engage should be arriving quarterly at their homes. Mailing lists are compiled from the latest information on file at the Church of God International Offices.

Engage was first published in 2009 and was previously printed under the title Covenant Resources. Articles are written by Church of God authors, as well as other evangelical leaders, and features reprints of articles from leading publications. Engage is published four times a year. Unfortunately, due to budgetary constraints, it is not available for mailing other than to those employed in a local Church of God.

Engage is an outgrowth of the former Profiles newsletter, which for years was mailed every other month to pastors and church leaders in a packet filled with flyers about Church of God events and other announcements. In 2006, Covenant Resources became a bound version of Profiles, but included other inspirational articles and letters from the executive committee.

In January 2009 the first issue of Engage was published and mailed to pastors and other church leaders. The audience quickly expanded to include those listed above, and other staff at the local church level.

“General Overseer Culpepper’s vision for Engage is that it be a resource to help the local church,” stated Cameron Fisher, editor of Engage. “Over the last three years of publishing Engage, we have received many requests from evangelists, retired ministers, and others who want to be added to the mailing list, but quantity restricts us from being able to do so. With the release of this website, everyone can read Engage at any time. That’s very exciting to us.”

Fisher went on to say that the website contains archived issues back to 2010 which can be pulled up and read as if they were holding the journal in their hands. “It even has the sound of turning pages,” Fisher said. The user-friendly website has easy magnification of the copy and a search tool that allows for searches of the current or past issues by word, topic, or author. There is also an option to post an article to social media, such as Facebook and Twitter.
