Absolutely Gospel Music has announced a new feature to the website, www.absolutelygospel.com, of a daily devotional targeted to singers, songwriters, and fans of Gospel music. Two of the featured writers are connected with the Church of God International Offices.
First Assistant General Overseer Tim Hill, who has also been an influential singer and songwriter of Gospel music, and Pamela Kay Overbey, singer, graduate student at Lee University, and member of the staff of the Discipleship Division, are two of the seven initial contributors to the daily devotional series.
Deon Unthank, CEO/Editor of Absolutely Gospel says, ” We have had several people express that they would like to see a devotion related to Gospel Music. After praying about it, the thought of a new area of ministry for the website was something I just couldn’t get away from. There are a lot of people from all walks of life that are hurting and just need some encouragement on any given day of the week. God has given us seven spectacular writers who all have ministries in their own right, to write devotions from their personal struggles and triumphs.”
In addition to Hill and Overbey, the writers will include, Bryan Hutson formerly of the Kingsmen and currently with Soul’d Out, Sheri Easter of Jeff and Sheri Easter, Johnny Minick formerly of the Happy Goodman Family and now with his own group John’s Call as well as serving as pastor, Allison Speer renowned soloist and singing with John’s Call, and Phil Enloe formerly of the Couriers and now serving as pastor. Unthank says, “This is a tremendous group of writers who will certainly bring readers back every day”.
The devotions started Monday, March 12, 2012 and can be found at www.absolutelygospel.com.
