NASHVILLE, TN. – The Gospel Music Association (GMA) announced its nominees for the 39th Annual Dove Awards. Among the finalists is SpiritSound Music Group’s HE IS GREAT, nominated for Choral Collection of the Year.
The awards will be presented at Nashville’s famed Grand Ole Opry House. The ceremony will be produced in high definition and broadcast live on the Gospel Music Channel from 8 – 10 p.m. (ET/PT) on Wednesday, April 23, 2008.
HE IS GREAT, a choral praise project from SpiritSound Music was created and arranged by Geron Davis and orchestrated by J. Daniel Smith. Dr. Delton Alford, executive producer and director of the Department of Music Ministries, describes the work as, “a collection of exceptional songs, beautifully orchestrated and easily sung by church choirs and ensembles.” The live recording features Geron Davis and Kindred Souls, together with the Mt. Paran North New Life Singers, directed by Dr. Brad Moffett.
HE IS GREAT is SpiritSound’s fourth Dove Award nomination and recognition by the GMA in the choral category. Previous finalists include: Sing Noel, Inhabit the Praise and Song of Praise.
